Carrying Out MRP for Long-Term Planning 

Procedure

Carrying out total planning online

  1. Starting from the Long-term Planning node, choose Long-term planning → Planning run → Online.

The system branches to the initial screen for total planning.

  1. Enter the planning scenario key and the planning plant.
  2. Enter the control parameters for the planning run.
    You can only select net change planning or regenerative planning as the processing key.

Determine whether or not firm planned orders are to be copied from operative planning by entering the appropriate indicator in the Include firm planned orders field.

The following indicators exist:

    1. Use setting defined in planning scenario.
      The firm planned orders are copied if the indicator Include firm planned orders is set in the planning scenario.
      The firm planned orders are not copied if the indicator Include firm planned orders is not set in the planning scenario.
    1. The firm planned orders are copied from operative planning irrespective of the settings in the planning scenario.
    2. The firm planned orders are not copied from operative planning irrespective of the settings in the planning scenario.
  1. If you want to see the material list of planned materials, select the Display list field.
  2. To shorten the runtime of the total planning run, select the Parallel processing field.
  3. To start the planning run, choose .

Carrying out single-item planning

To carry out single-item planning, proceed as follows:

  1. Starting from the Long-term Planning node, choose Long-term planning → Sng-item, multi-lvl or Long-term planning → Sng-item, sng-lvl.

The system branches to the initial screen for single-item planning.

  1. Enter the key of the planning scenario as well as the material and the planning plant.
  2. Enter the control parameters for the planning run.
    You can only select net change planning or regenerative planning as the processing key.
    Determine whether or not firm planned orders are to be copied from operative planning by entering the appropriate indicator in the Include firm planned orders field.

The following indicators exist:

    1. Use setting defined in planning scenario.
      The firm planned orders are copied if the indicator Include firm planned orders is set in the planning scenario.
      The firm planned orders are not copied if the indicator Include firm planned orders is not set in the planning scenario.
    1. The firm planned orders are copied from operative planning irrespective of the settings in the planning scenario.
    2. The firm planned orders are not copied from operative planning irrespective of the settings in the planning scenario.
  1. If you want to plan all the components in a BOM structure even if the BOM has not changed, select the field entitled, Also plan unchanged components.
  2. If you want to see the results of the single-item planning run before they are saved, select the field Display results before they are saved.
  3. If you want to see the material list of planned materials after planning, select the Display material list field.
  4. To start the planning run, choose .

Carrying out make-to-order planning

  1. Starting from the Long-term Planning node, choose Long-term planning → Sng-item, sales ord.

The system displays the screen entitled, Make-to-Order Long-term Planning - Multi-Level.

  1. Enter the key of the planning scenario as well as the sales order and the sales order item.
  2. Enter the control parameters for the planning run.
    Determine whether or not firm planned orders are to be copied from operative planning by entering the appropriate indicator in the Include firm planned orders field.

The following indicators exist:

    1. Use setting defined in planning scenario.
      The firm planned orders are copied if the indicator Include firm planned orders is set in the planning scenario.
      The firm planned orders are not copied if the indicator Include firm planned orders is not set in the planning scenario.
    1. The firm planned orders are copied from operative planning irrespective of the settings in the planning scenario.
    2. The firm planned orders are not copied from operative planning irrespective of the settings in the planning scenario.

Carrying out individual project planning

  1. Starting from the Long-term Planning node, choose Long-term planning → Sng-item, Project.

The system displays the screen entitled, Long-Term Project Planning – Multi-Level.

  1. Enter the key of the planning scenario as well as the project definition and the WBS element.
  2. Enter the control parameters for the planning run.
    Determine whether or not firm planned orders are to be copied from operative planning by entering the appropriate indicator in the Include firm planned orders field.

The following indicators exist:

    1. Use setting defined in planning scenario.
      The firm planned orders are copied if the indicator Include firm planned orders is set in the planning scenario.
      The firm planned orders are not copied if the indicator Include firm planned orders is not set in the planning scenario.
    1. The firm planned orders are copied from operative planning irrespective of the settings in the planning scenario.
    2. The firm planned orders are not copied from operative planning irrespective of the settings in the planning scenario.
