Stamping an Original Application File 

Use

Authorized employees can enter information directly into an original application file using a checking result, or an authorization result. By using a flexible digital stamp you can enter desired information, and effectively control the rest of the workflow.

The people in charge of the project check for any changes to the product in the document info record, for which there exists a design drawing and a specification (among other things). The changes are incorporated completely in the design drawing; however, the specification is still incomplete, and must be revised again. The project leader stamps this information on each original application file.

Redlining Function Bar

Stamping is a redlining function. The content of a stamp is saved in a layer. You can only carry out the function if the redlining function bar is active.

Stamp Settings

Before you can stamp an original application file, you must have created a stamp with the desired settings (for example, stamp text and layout).

Authorization Checks

Authorization checks, which belong to object class CV (Document Management), are carried out for the Stamp function. To be able to stamp, the following authorizations are required:

ECL Viewer: Authorization Object for Stamp Category

With this authorization object you control whether a user group may add or delete stamp categories.

S_ECL_STP2

ECL Viewer: Authorization Object for Printing with Metadata

With this authorization group you control whether a user group can stamp with a selected stamp category. The stamp can be set up in such a way that data from the document info record is also stamped.
You can also control the deletion and change of a stamp.

Stamping an Original Application File

Display the original application file with the integrated viewer of the standard SAP system.

  1. Check which layers are active. Choose Layer in the Viewer Function Bar.
  • If you want to set the stamp on an existing layer, activate this layer.
  • You activate or deactivate the layer by double-clicking on a layer entry.
  • If you want to create a new layer, only the original application file stays activated.
  1. In the viewer function bar choose Tools → Redlining.

If you have not activated a layer, or you want to create a new layer, enter a name.

The redlining function bar is displayed.

  1. Choose (Stamp).

You see the Select Stamp from Favorites dialog box.

  1. Check whether the desired stamp is listed in the favorites.

If you want to create a new stamp go to the tab page Administration.

When you have created the stamp, transfer the new stamp to the favorites list.

  1. Select the desired stamp from the favorites list.
  1. To transfer the settings for the layout, choose Default Values.

The system transfers the changeable settings for the selected stamp. You can change the settings for the current processing in the datasets Extras, Size, Background, and Font.

  1. If all settings are to your liking, choose Continue.

The system sets the stamp on the original application file. You can alter the position of the stamp by dragging it.
